COO & General Counsel
Jeannine Tang is COO and General Counsel for SK Global, where she oversees all company-wide strategy, business operations, deal making, legal affairs, human resources and is responsible for the integration and operationalization of SK Global and its subsidiary Critical Content.
Prior to joining SK Global, Tang served as General Counsel at Participant, where she oversaw and advised on all aspects of the company’s business and legal affairs including the content business, strategic investments and partnerships, social impact collaborations and general corporate matters. She led a restructure of the film and television slate and the consolidation of Participant’s digital content assets, as well as led their legal efforts surrounding the company’s signature global impact campaigns, which encompassed partnership contracts and management, complex legal considerations, and content creation. A few project highlights include DESCENDANT (Netflix), WE GROWN NOW (Sony), BLKNWS (A24), OUT OF MY MIND (Disney+), and INTERIOR CHINATOWN (Hulu).
Tang also previously served as Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at The Weinstein Company. While there, she advised on general corporate matters, financing and strategic partnerships as well as licensing, distribution and production. She worked on several critically acclaimed films, including THE HATEFUL EIGHT and THE UPSIDE.
Previously, Tang practiced at O'Melveny and Myers, LLP in the Entertainment, Sports and Media Group, primarily focusing on film and television with an emphasis on complex copyright and film financing. She represented a wide range of clients including investors, production companies, producers, and motion picture studios.
Before her transition into business and legal affairs, Tang began her entertainment career in creative development. At DreamWorks Animation she helped to develop titles including the SHREK franchise, KUNG FU PANDA and SHARK TALE. She later worked at Sony Pictures Animation, where she transitioned into production, on the film SURF'S UP.
Tang holds a JD from UC Berkeley School of Law where she specialized in intellectual property law. In her spare time, she and her family enjoy traveling, urban hikes, and a Sunday ritual of attending movies.
