Sean Bangert

EVP, Head of Business & Legal Affairs - Unscripted

Sean Patrick Bangert heads the business and legal affairs team for the unscripted television and documentary division of SK Global Entertainment/Critical Content, overseeing deal-making, negotiations, and business and legal strategy that support the company's slate of unscripted programming. In this role, Sean works closely with production, finance, and network partners to structure and close deals across the division's growing portfolio and reports to the company's Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.

Before joining Critical Content, Sean spent several years in business and legal affairs at Viacom, where he focused on television and documentary content for CMT, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, and VH1, negotiating talent, production, and licensing agreements across the company's cable networks. He began his career at Reveille, joining the company just as the U.S. version of THE OFFICE was taking off, and later spent several years in business and legal affairs at Playboy Entertainment.

Sean earned his law degree from Southwestern Law School and studied art history at the University of Nebraska. He is passionate about the First Amendment and an artist's right to free speech, and brings that perspective to his work supporting the storytellers and producers behind Critical Content's unscripted programming.

A Nebraska native, Sean now splits his time between Los Angeles and the Austin, Texas area. Outside of work, he is a musician and a devoted fan of the LA Dodgers and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
